Happy Birthday to...Hubs!

Brian is 25 today! He's kinda depressed about it, because now he is considered to be in his "late 20's."

I on the other hand, am trying to be productive by making his day 10 times better. I planned an impromptu birthday party. Really, it's just family coming over, but still! I went to the store yesterday, and I got all the ingredients to make stuff.

I woke up at 9 AM, this morning, and I went to the store to get everything I needed for later this evening. We're going to have homemade chicken enchiladas, refried beans, and Caesar salad. For desert *drum roll*....Red Velvet Cake (from scratch) with cream cheese frosting! Yes, I am in fact putting 25 candles on his cake! For drinks, we'll be having beer (for the beer drinkers), sweet tea, and soda.

I will post pictures tomorrow of his birthday party. But for now, I'll show you a sample of the pictures that we had done for Emily yesterday. It may be just me, but this baby is so freakin' cute!

Happy Wednesday

I am so happy that this week is almost over! I have so much planned for this weekend! On Saturday, my parents, brother, and my sister are coming over to see Emily. Also, I'm going with my SIL to get Emily's pictures taken! I can't wait...she is just so stinkin' cute! Then, on Sunday, it's Brian's 25th birthday! He's not too happy about turning 25, but I try to remind him that you are only as old as you feel. Ha! This coming from a 23 year old, who won't turn 24 till the middle of December! Hopefully, Brian's car insurance will go down...that would be nice.

I had hubbs take pictures of Emily last night, while I was giving her a bath. She loves bath time! I can't wait until she can get in the regular tub. She's just gonna have a blast!

And, here for your viewing pleasure:

Emily loves Bath time!

Happy baby:

What you don't see in this picture - She had just peed on me!

Post It Note Tuesday!

Messy Rooms & Thong Underwear

As much as I try to keep my house clean, it never happens. With 3 girls (mainly the 4 year old), it is very hard. Then, add a husband who comes home and leaves a couple beer cans wherever they may sit. Yeah! This is what I stress over all day, every day. I have managed to keep my bathroom and my bedroom cleaned (thank goodness, because lately it has become my relaxation spot). However, the kitchen, living room, and Emily's room are completely trashed at the end of the day. I find myself trying to frantically pick up, and it just doesn't happen.

So, after much deliberation, I decided to make Emily's room (poor baby) into a sleeping area/play room. I'm going to put all of their toys into Emily's room and make it look all pretty. If any toys end up out of Emily's room, they will be taken away, and she'll get them the next day or something. Maybe this way, I can save my sanity and keep the house clean!

I'll leave you with something funny that Kaitlin (4) said yesterday: We were playing with sidewalk chalk, and she had a wedgie. She said, "My panties are just like Mommies!" Her mommy wears thong underwear, and after talking to my SIL, apparently Kaitlin has a fetish for thong underwear!

- We have 6 gold fish
- I love cleaning, organizing, cooking, and crafting
- I'm a stay-at-home mom
- During the week, I watch my nieces, who are 4 years old and 8 months old

Life Changing Event

One year ago today, my life changed forever. I was at work, and my friend kept telling me that I was pregnant. She wanted me to take a pregnancy test. I kept telling her that there was no way I could be pregnant. I had just been through a miscarriage, and it had only been 5 weeks. I just KNEW that I wasn't pregnant. So, after work, we went to Walmart and bought a cheap pregnancy test. She bought one as well, since she was late. We went into the bathroom at our work (individually) and then we waited. Less than a minute later, my test came out positive. I still didn't believe it. I was very skeptical.

I made a doctor's appointment for the following Monday. I went to the appointment. I was so scared that I would have another miscarriage, or that we wouldn't be able to find a heartbeat. My doctor immediately found that heartbeat, and I will never forget the feelings I had rushing through me. I loved her from the moment I saw that heartbeat.

Today, she is 16 weeks old. Emily "talks" all the time. She is starting to sit up. She loves playing with this ball thing, that has 6 inch strips of ribbon attached to it. She has been rolling over for the past month. I could not have imagined a better or more amazing little person.

I don't hear you!

Brian (my husband) and Kaitlin (my niece) were playing Candy Land yesterday. Here is the conversation that went down in my living room yesterday:

Brian: OK, Kaitlin, you need to put your game away.

Kaitlin: NO!

Brian: Kaitlin. The rule is you put your toys away when you are finished with them. So, put your game away.

Kaitlin: I don't hear you!!

Brian: Excuse me??

Kaitlin: I SAID, I HEARD YOU!

Brian: That's right you heard me! Now, put your game away, or you will not be allowed to play with it.

Kaitlin: FINE!

Can I just skip this stage with Emily? I don't want to hear my child talk to me like this. Have any of y'all gone through this stage with your children? If so, what did you do to handle it?

Mondays

I enjoy staying up late. I do, really. This is the only time when it (usually) is just me, and I can do whatever I want. I don't have to make sure that my husband is taken care of. I don't have to make sure that my daughter needs something. It's just me and a can of Coca-Cola. This is the time when I reflect on the day. I think about pretty much everything. I think about what I did, what I could have done, and what I should have done differently.

Random thoughts: my house is a mess, I need to do dishes, I need to think of something to make for dinner tomorrow, what am I going to do with the girls tomorrow?

That's right. I said girls, as in plural! I watch my nieces during the week.

The oldest is Kaitlin, and she's 4. She is amazing! She loves to color, watch movies (I'm pretty selective about what I let her watch), cook, and clean. She helps me out a lot!

Her sister, Megan, is 8 months old. She's not quite crawling yet, but I can see that she's on the cusp of it. She hates it when I walk away from her. I can't even go to the bathroom for 5 seconds without her crying.

Emily and Megan love playing together. I know eventually those coos will turn into, "That's MY toy!" Gee, can't wait!

I love Mondays though. Even though I have to get up super early, make sure the house is clean, and take care of 3 girls (who are high maintenance by the way). I enjoy every minute I get with them. They make everyday fun and I don't know what to expect!

Mother's Day

As I'm sitting here typing this, Emily is in her swing. She probably won't wake up until morning. I'm okay with that. Ever since she was born, she has always stayed up late with me. Brian will go to sleep, and then its mommy and Emily time. All we do is lay on the couch and talk to each other. I consider it the most special time I get with her.

I fall more and more in love with Emily ever single day. I think she is the most adorable child on the planet (yeah...I'm a little biased).

I remember last year on Mother's Day. I was so angry and bitter from going through a miscarriage. Little did I know that 6 days later, I was going to take a pregnancy test, and that it would come out positive!

I would do anything for this girl. I would walk on hot coals for her. I know she loves me back, because of the way she is when she first sees me in the morning. She has this smile that lights up the room. When she sees me, we lock eyes...and its as if no one in the world matters to her, except me! She knows I'll hold her when she's crying. She knows I'll keep her clean, feed her, and play together with her toys.

I know one day she won't need me to kiss the boo-boos. She won't want me to hold her anymore. She'll tell me that she can go into school by herself. So for now, I'm enjoying this.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers and soon-to-be mothers! I hope that you have an enjoyable, relaxing day with your children!

Introduction

My name is Brittni. I'm 23 years old. I love cooking, listening to music, watching movies, and decorating our apartment. I watch my nieces during the week. They are 8 months old and 4 years old. My days are pretty busy, but so much fun!

My husband is 24. He works at Philips, working on professional moving lights. He loves his job, and I'm so happy for him. There is nothing worse than being at a job that you don't like. He works 13 hours a day, 5 days a week. In his spare time, he enjoys playing computer games and working on computers. Yea...he's a technical nerd. He actually built his own computer!

Last, but not least is Emily. She is 3 months old. She enjoys tummy time, eating, and playing with her toys. Her favorite toy is this ball with ribbon on it. She can't crawl yet, but she does "skootch" around the living room on her back. She also will walk on my tummy!

Our lives are super busy, but amazing. I couldn't ask for a better family!

This is Emily, our sweet baby girl:

About Emily

My name is Emily. I was born on January 25, 2010. I love playing on the floor with my toys, and "talking" to everyone. I love my mommy and daddy so much! When my daddy comes home from work, I smile really big. I don't like being around a lot of people, I love playing with my cousins, and I'm formula fed (mommy tried to breastfeed, but it just didn't work out for a couple of reasons).

About Me

Hey y'all! My name is Brittni. I was born and raised in Texas. I say y'all...a lot! I've been married to the most amazing man since June 2009. We have a beautiful baby girl, Emily. My favorite things to do are clean, organize, read, cook, and craft. I love tweaking recipes to make them better (or rather, to fit my family).

Random Facts About Me:
- I was born on an Air Force base, in Austin, TX (it's now an airport). Yes, I'm an Air Force Brat (x2, since both my dad and birth mom were in the Air Force)

- I hate tomatoes with a passion! The sad thing was, I craved them like crazy when I was pregnant.

- I can't leave my room in the morning, without making the bed.

- I actually clean my vacuum! I disinfect it, too!

- I've met Kelly Clarkson...she's really sweet!
